For the past weeks, i have been continuosly bombarded with lots and lots of assignments and mid terms... Not that it is over... I still have 3 assignments and a project to do before my finals. Just yesterday, my friends and I rushed out a 36-page long assignment!!! it is crazy on how much work they actually give to the students.
4 more weeks to go... AND *drumroll* I AM BROKE.... hahhaha... not really totally without $$ but i dun really wan to spend it... call me kiam siap or wadever... i juz dun wan to spend more.... SO i am determined to cook most of my meals for the last 4 weeks....Plus, i have a problem here... i dunno if my stuff can fit my currently *broken* luggage!!! headache !!!!
Talking bout acad stuff reminds me of CORS aka bidding for mods... i still dunno if i should take a level 4000 mod.... cause i m thingking of graduating in 3 yrs. I start to feel less interested to take honours. My worry is just that i dun really have internship experience if i grad in 3 yrs... THATS ANOTHER BIG PROBLEM OF MY LIFE!!!
I heard a super duper surprising n sweet news today!!! well... i cant really say what it is... but CONGRATS to *******.... I am happy for u!! :) I am gonna bug u for more info once i return!!!
Another update is weiling and sam have left for their respective *place*. SAM to France and Weiling to Shanghai... so sad that i wun see them for the year ahead... well i wish them the best over there :)
I mentioned that i have lots of trips recently.... First place is NIAGARA FALLS. Then i went to vancouver for 6 days and MOntreal for another 3 days. It was indeed an extremely draining experience...The stroy goes like this......................................
NIAGARA FALLS
2 buses from CLV South head for Niagara falls on ....*dun remember*....Once we reach there, we are free to do whatever we want and come back to the exact location by 5. Of course, obviously, undeniably, we wanted to see the falls. There are 2 choices; take the maids aka ship or walk behind the falls. We decided to take the maids. Photos are below!!! The falls look fabulous from afar... with the horse shoe shape falls all that.... but nearing the falls is another awesome sight. The shades of colour of the water from green to white is really fantastic. We got slightly wet even though we are wearing raincoats. But it was an experience not to be missed !!! After the falls, we went to tour the shopping area. There are some entertainment plcs. We just stroll lazily along the street before proceeding back to the bus.
VANCOUVER & VANCOUVER ISLAND
This will be a long trip...6 days 5 nights....In comparison to the New York group, it is really long....and tiring as well... I was partially half conscious by the 5th day....
First day:
We reached the airport in the afternoon. We decided to take a cab down to the ferry terminal and proceed to the vancouver island. We are going to stay there for the next 3 days 2 nights. The taxi driver!!! He is IRRITATING. He keeps on talking unnecesarry stuff... He even sneered at us Chinese... We feel like just strangling him but lucky he is still useful to us. Just because he is INDIAN.... he doesnt understand other race but it is stupid to criticise ... DUMBO!!!
Anyway, the ferry we took was coolz.... the upper level are for those like us aka no car. The lower level actually can fit in buses and cars. I looked at the vehicles loading the ferry... It is so convenient!!! The ferry was really nice.... comfortable to *nua* (we refer this as slacking) ....It took us another hour to reach the island. On the way, we really saw lots of isolated houses within thick vegetation. It was nice.... We took an hour bus journey to our hotel. The hotel is really small but the service was really great. They really help us lots. We took a quick rest and went out for dinner. Since we cant go anywhere already, we rested for the rest of the night.
Second day:
We woke up really early for breakfast (not appetizing with just breads and .........more breads). Then, sweetly, the staff there offered to help us make a booking for whale watching the next morning. Whale watching was wad we really wanted to do when we were in the island. Really looked forward for it :).
That being settled, we proceed to walk down to downtown. On the way, we see lots of nice things. We walked past Chinatown and spotted more chinese!!! hahhaha and i found a Mahjong set but it costs a BOMB... though we miss playing it... dun really wan to spend the $$ on it though... we can 忍..... skipping forward, we went to the miniature world. We got lucky as they charge us youth price when all of us are over 21 already ... hahhahah..... Miniature world is really cute... The world is really small inside... but i am amazed at how detailed the figurines are. My best favourite work is the classic fantasy world... with snow white all that....
After the mineature world, we take a quick lunch and go all the way up the island to Butchard garden. This is the best Garden i have been. The flowers are really BIG and beautiful. There are lots of new flowers that i saw. I have lots of nice photos at this plc. These pictures seemed like those on calendar... They look fake but they are real !!! I cant decribe the scenery.... photos will say it all... :) After Butchard garden, we went back to the shopping centre near our hotel and *nua* at the starbuck to end the day!!!
Third Day:
As mentioned, we went for WHALE WATCHING!!! we got a bit lost looking for the plc though.... hehhe.... but juz on time to reach the office. It cost 100 bucks !!!! We got dressed in super ugly orange thick life jacket!!! When we move together, we look like a herd of penguins.... unable to move our limbs.... hahahhaha.... Then we board the zodiac which is this short little life boat that can fit 12 ppl only..... I CANT SWIM!!! of coz i am slightly scared. :( then the RIDE!!!! WAH!!!! WAH WAH WAH WAH..... Heart attack at the beginning.... The ride wasnt smooth.... well it wsant to be... but i still got a shock..... Bumps all the way.... and the wind!!! piercing to the eyes... We were lucky that we got shades that day!!! if not... i cant believe how we are going to open our eyes then.....
Then comes the best part.... we saw humpback whale!! it was a young one.... we cant really get withing 100 m near it.... so from afar we can randomly see him splurting water.... flipping.... It was cute.... but kind of sad that they spotted only one that day but there was supposed to be killer whales too but they were far beyond the boundary they can go.... sad cant see it.... We got to see other animals too ... like seals (lots of them), eagle and it's nest, fliiper which make really weird noises..... like snoring sound.... It was really big surprisingly ... and lazy... juz *nua*ing in a corner...... That basically too us the whole afternoon....
Then we went to collect our luggage from the hotel and proceed to the ferry and head to Vancouver main island..... Once we reach, we checked into our hotel and got us a Japanese dinner to end the day :)....The area where we stay was kind of a bit scary...ooppppsss
Fourth, Fifth and Last day:
Sorry.... i really forget the sequence from here... i was too tired so i cant register much things in my brain.....I will just mentioned what i can remember...
Grouse Mountain!!! We took an extra large cable car up to the mountain....Upon reaching, we walked around to see lots of outdoor shows.... There are flying fox and parachuting too. There are snow!!!They have not totally melted due to the height and summer was just beginning..... we saw a mountain bear too!!! sleeping.... hahahha... It was really tiring to walk the uneven roads.... but well it was an experience.....
UBC... I visited Carrine uni!!! hahhaha... It was really nice... better that UW act.... no wonder indonz like to stay there.... hehehe....
Downtown... honestly, the downtown was much better than the one in toronto... there more shops and lots of chinese seriously.... They dress better too... :) I remembered we ate at Guu(Jap restaurant) recommended by many frens.... nice but not the best Jap food i have eaten....
On the last day, we just wake up early to catch the morning flight back to Toronto and waterloo and school work!!
Oh i remember another plc... Stanley Park.... gd for cycling... we practicallly juz *nua* there... hahahhaha... It was freaking big though.... didnt manage to finish the walk....too tired....
Montreal
We took an 8-hour long bus journey to get to montreal for their Jazz festival!!!! We reached at night and go straight to the festival.... It was really like a huge music festival with many stages with different people sharing their music.... Not all music are jazz though.... there are very few asians there.... weirdly.... sometimes i feel that we got the stare from those ang mohs... hahhaha.... We stopped randomly at few stages and enjoyed the music... Overall.... we juz enjoy the festival mood.....
Since we were at montreal.... i forgot to mention that we stay at this really nice residence of mcgill uni..... nice plc..... Back..... we decided to travel abit too.... we went to the bio dome..... we feel home there... there is this part where u got to experience reainforest!!! hello.... hot and humid... where else SINGAPORE!!! hahahha.... then we got to different types of vegetation... saw lots of new animals... my best ones.... Penguins!!! first time i saw them up close.... they are cute really..... they can juz stand and sleep with different poses.... hahhahaha.... and they will wag their short tail before shitting.... hahahhaha....They are really an adorable community.....
Then we went up the "cable car" dunno... cant remember the name... to see montreall from up above.... Lastly, we made a visit to the Notre Dame church.... Seriously, it doesnt look appealing from outside.... just a normal church.... when u enter!!! MY MY MY..... It was really BEAUTIFUl.... The detailed structure was amazing... we cant really take photos during the day ....so we took the programme at night... where they will bring us thru the church's history... and explained each structure... then we can take a pic of it.... The photos are not as nice as what i have seen... I think the real thing was 3 times much more majestic than that... or should i say 'inspiring' as what the person said....
we made another trip to the festival on the last day before going back to waterloo...:)
